WARD GREEN PRIMARY SCHOOL: BOARD OF GOVERNORS

Please click here to view the Governors meeting timetable for 2015/16.

The governors’ principle functions are:

  1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction within the School;

  1. Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and

  1. To oversee the financial performance of the School and making sure its money is well spent.

The Board has 12 members and it meets at least once each term to conduct its business. These sub-committees meet each half term to conduct their business. Each governor serves on one or more of these sub-committees.  The members of the board, with the exception of Mrs Jones and Ms Eyre have voting rights on all the committees which they serve.

The Board has devolved specific responsibilities to three sub-committees:

- Finance & General Purposes Committee

- Personnel & Curriculum Committee

- Strategy & Performance Committee

Guidance and Procedures for the Election of Parent and Staff Governors

All our Governors complete a Proforma Register of Business Interests, to declare all beneficial interests which they or any person closely connected with them have with business or other organisations which may have dealings with the school.
