Breakfast Club

The Big Lottery Fund is responsible for distributing 40 percent of all funds raised for good causes by the National Lottery. It has awarded over £6bn to projects supporting health, education, environment and charitable purposes. They deliver funding throughout the UK, through programmes tailored specifically to the needs of communities in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It has been through The Big Lottery Fund that the Breakfast Club has been funded, enabling the school to purchase all the necessary resources.

In January 2013, The Breakfast Club was commenced to give children a place to go before the start of school, where they can engage in group activities, morning exercise and eat a healthy breakfast. We have Breakfast Club Assistants that encourage children to make healthy breakfast choices through posters, displays and activities provided, and deliver Wake Up and Shake Up activities three mornings a week.A variety of activities are provided, including sports, baking, iPad games, board games, reading and art. Older children are also given the opportunity to lead activities and help register children as they arrive. Through the Breakfast Club, more children are accessing sports activities during the week and children are displaying improved social skills through the games and activities offered.

There is a small cost of £3.00 and you will need to inform staff at The Breakfast Club of any allergies your child has. Parents and children can turn up whenever they would like to. We only ask that parents of children in Key Stage One [Nursery, Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2] must accompany their child to the Breakfast Club. The Breakfast Club is open from 8:00am and can be accessed through the front entrance. We look forward to seeing you all there!

We have a varied selection of healthy options available for our pupils, together with breakfast themes from around the world.
